Clifton Erickson

Clifton Erickson was a minister with the "Voice of Healing" ministries. As a baby, Erickson was dedicated to the Lord, and by the age of five, he felt the call of God on his life. He was converted at a revival in Wenatchee, Washington, where he became youth leader, teacher, and song leader. Erickson was baptized in the Holy Spirit four years after his conversion.

A turning point came in Erickson's ministry when he asked Oral Roberts to lay hands on him. Erickson said, "I felt the power immediately…henceforth, He was going to manifest through me the ministry of healing" (Erickson, 1962, 22).

God led Erickson to the mission fields of South America, the Philippines, and England. "Gordon Lindsay described the miraculous power of God through Erickson's ministry in Chile in 1952. A Chilean newspaper reported that thirty-nine evangelical leaders in Chile praised Erickson as a man of faith." There were 75,000 people who attended his crusade. As a result of this crusade there are 3,000 churches in Chile today. Another spectacular revival took place in Manila where a church was built with a Sunday morning attendance of over 7,000 people.

Clifton Erickson spent his last days at his home in Orlando, Florida, where he went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 1998.

In this hour in which we live, when there is such a tendency for us to rely upon our human capabilities, we are trying to effect the will of God in the earth by human means and methods. But, as Christ gave the positive command to His disciples, so does that same command hold true for us today. Jesus said, "without me, you can do nothing."
